DR. ORJI UZOR KALU - Chairman
Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu holds a Bachelor of Science (Honours) degree in Political Science from the Catholic University, Washington, USA and MBA certificate from the Harvard University Graduate School of Business Administration, Boston Massachusetts, USA. Dr. Kalu is a member of the Institute of Directors and other numerous professional bodies.
A man of robust intellect and thoroughbred corporate administrator, he has served on the board of many organisations. In April 1984 he was appointed the Chairman of Borno State Water Board and later became Chairman of Imo State Marketing and Supply Agency Limited. Owing to his enviable track record in business management, Dr. Kalu was made Chairman of Co-operative and Commerce Bank Limited. He has also served on many other boards, organisations and institutions such as: Federal Government Committee on reviewing of Banking Institutions (1986-87), Borno State Committee on Maitatsine Religious Riots (1984), National Sports Commission (1990-93), Council Member, Federal Polytechnic, Bauchi (1991-94), Elected member of National Assembly (1992), where he served as the Deputy Chairman, Finance Committee and Internal Affairs respectively.
In 1988, he received an award as Nigeria's youngest bank Chairman and in 1990, he was given the Industrialist of the Year Award by the Nigerian Chamber of Commerce, Trade and Industry.
Dr. Kalu, who is also a proud member of the Order of the Niger (MON) was the first African man to moderate a World Summit Conference of Mayors in Ohio, USA. He has an honorary doctorate degree in Law from both the City State University in Los Angeles, USA and University of Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria. Dr. Kalu is the author of the book "June 12 and Nigerian Foreign Policy", he was once the Executive Governor of Abia State, Nigeria. He is married with children.
EMEKA ABONE BSc. ACA - Executive Vice-Chairman
A 1988 Business Administration graduate of the University of Nigeria, Abone qualified as a Chartered Accountant in May, 1992 and was admitted an Associate of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) in 1994.
He began his working career with Oladeji Olagunji & Co., a Lagos based firm of Chartered Accountants as Trainee Accountant in 1988. He left the firm in 1990 as Audit Senior to join Seven-Up Bottling Company PLC, Ikeja as Assistant Cost Accountant. He had a brief stint with Seven-Up before moving to Universal Trust Bank of Nigeria Limited (UTB) in February 1991 as Management Trainee. He was promoted to Banking Officer in January 1992 on successful completion of the programme.
He was Head, Credit Division, UTB, Ikeja branch before he left in May 1993 to join Fund Tech Finance and Investment PLC as Head, Finance and Administration, a post he held until his appointment at SLOK Nigeria Ltd
in November 1995 as Financial Controller.
In February 1997 he was transferred to SLOK Ghana Ltd as the General Manager, and in June 1997 he was recalled from Ghana and promoted to the position of General Manager, SLOK Nigeria Ltd.
Abone has attended numerous trade fairs in Indonesia, Malaysia and China. He is Director of First International Bank, Gambia and Associate member of the Institute of Directors, Nigeria. He is happily married.
JOSEPH NASSIF - Group Managing Director / Chief Operating Officer
Joseph Nassif enjoys over 20 years of experience in the fields of Engineering and Business Administration.
Holder of a BA as well as a Master's Degree in Sciences and Electrical Engineering from the University of Massachusetts, N. Dartmouth in 1987, Nassif is also an MBA graduate from Simon School University of Rochester, New York.
Starting from the University of Massachusetts, New England as Professor of Engineering, Nassif went on discovering the demanding administration environment through holding high managerial positions with world renowned multinationals.
From Electronics and IT companies in Boston as Test and Project Engineer, to IBM as Design and Development Engineer, Nassif joined Xerox Corporation, Rochester New York in 1990 as System Development Engineer, was promoted to Project Manager then to Worldwide Marketing Manager.
Nassif stepped down from Xerox in 1997 to become General Manager of an independent Arab Engineering, Oil and Gas Consultancy based in Dubai and Beirut, serving a regional network of companies. He remained in this decision-making position till 2002, where he acquired strong leadership skills and a deep knowledge of the drivers and challenges of this globally vital industry.
Nassif joined SLOK Group - Nigeria as General Manager of SLOK Shipping (Oil & Gas) in 2003. In 2008, he was appointed Group Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer of SLOK Group.
Today, Nassif serves on the Board of Directors of many companies in Nigeria, Africa, and overseas.
All along his exciting professional journey, Nassif has been the recipient of tens of honours and awards bestowed on him in recognition of his Productivity, Contributions, Achievements and Leadership role.
Born in Beirut, Lebanon in May 12, 1963, Nassif is a Lebanese and Nigerian citizen. He is married.
BAR. (MRS) NGOZI NWANZE, LL.B, BL, LLM - Company Secretary / Legal Adviser
Nwanze is member of the Nigerian Bar Association, graduate of the University of Jos and the Nigeria Law School, Lagos. Nwanze holds a Master's Degree in Law from the University of Lagos, Nigeria.
Nwanze started her working career with Nicon Insurance Plc, as Legal Officer in 1990, and was promoted to the rank of Manager in the Legal Department.
In 2006, she left Nicon for Private Practice with Abel Partners as the Associate Partner until 2009, when she joined SLOK Nigeria Ltd
as the Group Company Secretary/Legal Adviser.
Nwanze is endowed with a rich experience through numerous professional travels, continuously attending seminars and workshops on legal-related matters. She is an Associate member of the Chartered Institute of Secretaries and Administrators, Nigeria.
FIRAS ABBOUD - Managing Director, SLOK Nigeria Ltd, Shipping Division
Abboud received his elementary mathematics baccalaureate from Saint Joseph's School in 1998. In 2003, he received a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering from Notre Dame University.
He began his career working for the giant CCIC Qatar as a mechanical engineer on an EPC LNG train project. He then moved to head the mechanical department in TEA, the Middle Eastern HVAC design and contracting company with projects in Lebanon and the Gulf of Arabia.
His professional career took him then towards Phoenix Industries, a leading company in mechanical design and fabrication of heavy production machines.
In 2005 he joined SLOK Nigeria Ltd
to head the technical department, scheduling and overseeing plans for vessel operations, maintenance and repairs. Later on, his work scope broadened to handling dry docks in West Africa in general and Nigeria in particular.
His technical skills are only matched by his managerial skills as he heads the shipping division of SLOK Nigeria Ltd
, comprising the largest Nigerian offshore support vessel fleet in West Africa.
Mrs. Ifeoma Orji Kalu holds a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Economics and Master's Degree in Business Administration (Finance & Banking) from the University of Jos. She is a Computer and Project Analyst and fellow of Hubert H. Humphrey of the Boston University, USA.
Mrs. Kalu is a seasoned banker with over 10 years cognate experience. She was the Branch Manager of Allied Bank PLC, Ikeja and member of the Nigerian Institute of Management, the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators, and the Computer Association of Nigeria.
A graduate of Columbia University, New York, Eunice Agwu has B.Sc. in Business Administration. An astute, experienced and successful business magnate, Mrs. Agwu is on the Board of Several reputable companies and has business experience spanning above twenty years.
She has been identified with different community-based developments and has attended many management and business related courses in Nigeria and abroad. She was a consultant to Mobil Producing Nigeria on community matters.
